Google started two Ph.D. Student research projects Stanford University, Larry Page and Sergey Brin in early 1996 which developed the theory that a search engine based on mathematical analysis of relationships between Web sites would give better results than by using basic search techniques used at that time. This system was originally called BackRub because it uses backlinks to estimate a site's importance.
Convinced that the pages with the most links to that halaman from the pages of other relevant web pages that are most relevant, Page and Brin decided to test their thesis as part of their studies - this becomes the foundation for their search engine. They officially formed their company Google Inc. On September 7, 1998.
Google became popular among Internet users because its design is simple and 'clean' and relevant search results.
