Guinean President and Scouts plant 3000 trees

CONAKRY - June 15, 2011, 200 Scouts in partnership with DHL Guinea, were mobilized to plant 3000 in the Kakimbo Forest. Also represented at the function was the Ministry of Environment, some government officials, UNDP, diplomatic corps. The guest of honour was the President of the Republic, His Excellency Alpha Condé. Kakimbo Forest, which once covered more than 200 Acres of land, was classified in 1943 by the colonial administration, now covers only almost 40 Acres due to encroachment by surrounding populations.
