Joy and Cheer at the Opening Ceremony of the ISPC 2019


An hour prior the opening ceremony of the ISPC2019, participants from various countries have already gathered at the Main Arena of the Camp. They impatiently but enthousiatically looked forward at the programme as expressed by Nga, a Vietnamese girl who said : “ I am very happy to be here and I am eager to take part on the activities”
The ceremony was officially opened at 09:00 AM and started by the reog ponorogo dance performance, followed by marching forward of each country’s representative taking along their respective national flag and ended by the reciting of scout promise in a loud and clear voice by an Indonesian Rover scout.
The opening ceremony atmosphere was heightened when 4 rover scouts raised the national flags of country participant accompanied by ISPC Theme Song in slow tempo and it became merrier as the theme song was played in faster and faster tempo. This brought everyone present to move forward to sing, dance and waved their hands to follow the nice and happy beat. It drew guests including Mr. Simon Hang Bock Rhee, World scout Committee Chair-person, Dr. Chao Sau-po, Regional Scout Committee Chairman, Dr. Azrul Azwar, Chairman of Gerakan Pramuka and many other VIP’s to join the happy and merry and enthousiastic participants while shaking hands with the in that historic morning. He closed his remarks by saying: “ Bravo- One scouting for One Indonesia.”
In his speech, Chair-person Rhee, stated that the aim of the ISPC is arena of learning each other’s cultures and bringing home the idea of peace after the camp is over.  
He closed his remarks by saying : “Bravo! One Pramuka for one Indonesia!” which won loud applause from the audience. While Chairman Azrul mentioned in his speech that peace means to respect others and making other smile. He also expected that participants learned Indonesian culture and its harmony.
The opening ceremony was followed by angklung performance which was started by Chairman Azrul, then followed by everyone. Chairman Azrul was then draped participant’s ISPC name tag to Miss Nancy, from Mexico and Mr. Joshim, a Bangladeshi.
Everyone was then had “an angklung play short course” led by Mr. Hari Patra, son of Angklung Udjo, which enthousiastically followed by everyone. And the spirit of peace has already been lighted throughout the day. (MA)
